After many weeks of it being lost in the mail and the feeling I would never receive my drama, it arrived! Yesterday when I got home from work there it was in a large box upon the floor. It was promptly unpacked.
(I added to the drama with the Hipstamatic App using Ina’s 69 “film” and John S lens.)
The seller truly packed each item insanely well. It took quite a bit of time to unwrap, which is a good thing because for the most part the packing protected the items from damage. Unfortunately, the tight wrapping broke off one of the crystals from the top of one of the lamps. I will see if it can be repaired somehow. Perhaps with solder?
Anyhow, they really make the room. They date between the 1930’s to early 1940’s and are in wonderful condition considering their age. Even the lamp shades are original! The indirect ambient light they provide is wonderful and the ensemble provides the right amount of drama to the dining room with out going overboard. However, just wait until I build the window cornice. Ha!
